Dynamic wrinkles can be successfully treated with Botulinum Toxin A. However, many more people in their thirties want to use it preventatively, to assist them from becoming pronounced wrinkles and to soften lines creating a more youthful complexion.
Dynamic wrinkles can be successfully treated with a protein called Botulinum Toxin (of which Botox® is a trade name). It reversibly weakens the muscles responsible for wrinkles which are lines that appear when you animate your face.
Static wrinkles are lines that appear at rest, these do not usually improve with Botulinum Toxin A and may be best treated with Dermal Fillers and Skin Peels.
Under-arm and forehead excessive sweating can be treated with Botulinum injections with excellent results which may last for up to 12 months.
Depending on the number of areas being treated, most anti-wrinkle injectables can be done within 30 minutes. Results are usually noticeable within 4- 7 days but can take up to 2 weeks for full results to be visible.
The results from anti-wrinkle facial injections typically last three to four months, with some patients finding they may last longer with ongoing treatment.
Anti-wrinkle facial injections are considered to have minimal side-effects. However, there is always a small risk of bruising, swelling, inflammation, bleeding and redness at the injection site. It is important to understand all the risks involved and to ensure your practitioner has the necessary skills and experience to deliver your treatment safely and to your satisfaction.
