Dr Amy Perkins is a Consultant Dermatologist who sees patients of all ages, managing a wide range of skin conditions with a patient-centred and evidence-based approach.
She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education from the University of Dundee and is completing a Master’s degree in Skin Ageing and Aesthetic Medicine at the University of Manchester.
Dr Perkins is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and serves as an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Glasgow. She also sits on the Board of Examiners for the Royal College of Physicians, contributing to the development, assessment and security of postgraduate medical examinations.
She frequently contributes to national media on topics including skin health, sun protection and the impact of health misinformation online. She has a particular interest in improving public understanding of dermatology and supporting patients to make informed decisions about their skin.
Dr Perkins also works with the Scottish Government as part of the Sunbed Working Group, which is exploring future regulatory approaches to sunbed use.
Her work sits at the intersection of dermatology, education and innovation. She has collaborated with leading technology organisations on the development and evaluation of artificial intelligence in healthcare and has a strong interest in its ethical and responsible use.
