Dr Cooke has been working as a Consultant Dermatologist in the NHS since 2011 and has considerable experience in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of skin problems including skin cancer, pigmented lesions, acne, eczema, psoriasis as well as other less common skin conditions. She has a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of patients with hair loss. Dr Cooke regularly performs dermatological procedures including skin biopsies, excision/removal of skin lesions, intralesional steroid injections and cryotherapy.

Teaching
- Dr Cooke has carried out extensive teaching to undergraduate medical students.
- Dr Cooke has been recognised by NIMDTA as a Postgraduate Medical Trainer for Core Medical Trainees.
- Dr Cooke is responsible for the training and supervision of the ICATS specialist dermatology nurses, ICATS GPSIs and hospital practitioners that work alongside the secondary care dermatology unit within the Trust.
- Dr Cooke is involved in Project Echo which aims to enhance dermatology teaching in primary care.
